NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS ON 2009 TAX RATE
Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Henderson, Texas, will conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed budget for fiscal year 2009-2010 at the City Council meeting scheduled for August 25, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 400 West Main, Henderson, Texas. This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $171,340 (or 8.08%) and of that amount $102,984 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the roll this year. Additionally, notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Henderson, Texas, will conduct two Public Hearings on the 2009 tax rate at the City Council meetings scheduled for August 25, 2009 and September 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 400 West Main, Henderson, Texas. The tax rate of $.5217 per $100.00 valuation is on all real and personal property within the city limits of the City of Henderson, Texas. This rate will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s rate. The tax rate will effectively be raised by 1.84% and will raise taxes for maintenance and operations on a $100,000 home by approximately $7.90.
