Henderson Civic Theatre
The Henderson Civic Theatre brings live theatrical productions to the historic downtown Opera House on a regular basis, bringing fine arts at its best to the city.
The Opera House was built in 1885 and has housed many businesses and professions over the years. It was purchased in 1988 by Henderson Civic Theatre (HCT), with renovations beginning in 1990 and continuing still.
HCT has expanded its production schedule to include a musical and four plays per season. The theatre also has a children’s workshop and a children’s production each summer. For anyone interested in becoming a part of the HCT, all you have to do is come by and sign up. One stage is not the only place where HCT needs talent.
The group is always looking for volunteers to help with the lights, sounds, costumes, make-up, and a variety of other jobs backstage that are essential to a quality performance. For more information about volunteering or performances call 903-657-2968 or visit them at www.hendersoncivictheater.com .
