Mission Statement 

The City of Henderson Fire Department's mission is to promptly and professionally serve the needs of our Community with pride, dedication, and excellence; never failing to deliver quality emergency life safety services with the highest level of integrity, commitment, teamwork, and community engagement.

We are a responsive and progressive part of the Community we serve. We commit to excellence and professional accountability through effective training, technology and adapting to the changing needs of our community. 

 We seek to remain respected by our citizens for anticipating and responding to their ever-changing needs. We embrace new technologies and techniques, focusing on training and education to provide the highest level of customer services and satisfaction in a professional and caring manner.


History

The Henderson Fire Department was first organized in 1914, utilizing 20 volunteer firefighters. From 1914 to 1927, our equipment consisted of only a bucket brigade for fire protection.

Historic Fire Truck

In 1916, the City's first paid firefighters were hired and the Department has continued to grow. HFD now commands eight vehicles; which include fire engines, a ladder truck, brush truck and tanker.

Henderson Fire Department is currently rated a Class 2 by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and its Public Protection Classification program. The Henderson Fire Department averages 800 calls per year consisting mainly of fire suppression, rescue, and first response.
