CITY EVENTS

mg
  • Comprehensive Plan - Kimley Horne held the final workshop at the April Council Meeting for input related to the Comprehensive Plan as Council, Planning & Zoning and the Comp Plan Advisory Committee have joint discussions.  These discussions will ultimately put the final touches on the plan before recommendation to Planning and Zoning as well as City Council.  The only thing left to input for decision making will be the Sports Facilities Companies feasibility study.
  • April Council Meeting – The City Council of Henderson, Texas held a regular Council meeting on April 18th, 2023 to discuss various issues such as property zoning changes, declaring surplus property, and rescinding previous approvals. The City of Henderson presented their annual audit and proclaimed April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Council discussed budget amendments and police officer salary adjustments. The City of Henderson considered recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission to amend the city's zoning map, approve the formation and conversion of the Henderson Economic Development Corporation, and discussed updates from various departments.
  • Community Clean-Up - A record breaking event with trucks lined up past the railroad tracks, each patiently waiting to pull through the front gates of our Community Clean-Up event. With citizen participation, we smashed previous records and collected 151 tires, and welcomed 292 vehicles through gate.
  • City Closures – City Hall and Facilities were closed April 7th, 2023 in observance of Good Friday

  • Parks and Recreation crews are busy preparing our community for spring with their annual rose trimming, repairing drinking fountains at parks, and installing aerated soil at Montgomery Park
  • The Sports Facilities Company did a feasability study on current sports and recreation facilities in our community.
