CITY EVENTS- November Council Meeting – November 19th at 6:00 PM
- Paint The Town Pink - October 1st starts off a month long fundraiser to promote Henderson Fire Department's Cancer Fund. The HFD Cancer Fund provides monetary assistance for local cancer patients to cover essentials such as medical care, household expenses, or gas and lodging during treatment. Paint the Town Pink 2024 shirt design go on sale 10/1! Pick up one for the whole family at Central Station Fire Station: 401 West Main.
- UNITY IN OUR COMMUNITY - National Night Out was a resounding success, focused on strengthening bonds between neighbors, communities, first responders, and community leaders. At Fair Park, attendees came together for the vital cause of creating safer environments for children to grow, play, and learn. Throughout the event, they enjoyed fun, food, and music while having the opportunity to leave their painted handprints on a City of Henderson Police Department patrol car. Each unique handprint symbolized individual pledges to foster a safer, unified community. The vibrant display of colorful handprints on the patrol vehicle served as a powerful reminder of this commitment. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City of Henderson community for making this event both memorable and impactful.
- Municipal Services Complex Dedication Ceremony | October 16th: Citizens were invited to attend the dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the new Municipal Services Complex building. The ribbon cutting celebrated the visionary leadership, dedicated planning, endless patience, and unwavering support of the community that made the Henderson Municipal Services Complex possible. Deepest appreciation was expressed to all who attended, coordinated, and were recognized as instrumental in acquiring this extraordinary property. The event marked the realization of a lofty dream: unified and cohesive municipal services under one roof.
- Public Safety Fun Night | October 31st - Rain or shine, come stand in line! There may be wet weather in the forecast, but that won't put a damper on our fun at Central Fire Station (401 West Main). Bring your friends and families to explore the fire trucks and gather up tons of treats!

Municipal Services Complex Dedication CeremonyOn October 16th, the City of Henderson held a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting for the new Municipal Services Complex, celebrating a collaborative vision that unified municipal services under one roof. The event highlighted the contributions of key figures, including Mayor and City Council members. Special tributes were made to Mr. Mark Mann and Mr. Ron Adkison for their pivotal roles in the facility's development. Mr. Mann, who generously donated his share of ownership, was honored with the naming of the main conference room as the J. Mark Mann Executive Conference Room. Mr. Adkison, whose contributions facilitated the City’s acquisition of the remaining property, was recognized with the naming of the upstairs WAR Room as the Ron Adkison WAR Room. Additionally, the Council Chamber and Courtroom were named the Thomas Ward Council Chamber and Courtroom in honor of Mr. Ward’s long service to the City of Henderson on City Council. The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the community, showcasing the dedication and support that made this dream a reality.

EMPLOYEE HIGHLIGHTSA Solemn OathThe oath of a Law Enforcement Officer is meant to be a personal commitment to serve and protect the community. From patrol officers to the Police Chief, all officers take the same oath. It is uniform across the board and meant to ensure every officer makes the same commitment as their fellow officers. Welcome To The Team!This last month we welcomed six shining faces to the City of Henderson. Warmest welcomes to Cynthia Castaneda, Bret Gardella, Kelsea Chapman, Mika Miley, Kesiah Giles, and Dakota Ballew. Castaneda, Chapman, Miley and Bellew are the newest members of the Henderson Animal Center while Gardella will serve at the new Executive Director of Henderson Economic Development Corporation. Giles is the newest patrol officer for the Henderson Police Department. We are excited to have each of these individuals join us and look forward to having them on board!
