  • March Council Meeting – March 18th 6:00pm. 
  • City Closures – City Hall and Facilities will be closed April 18th in observance of Good Friday.

PROJECT UPDATES

New City Hall
  • Infrastructure & Maintenance Improvements: This month Public Service crews conducted extensive road repairs across the city to enhance driving conditions and safety for residents. Additionally, multiple gravesites at Lakewood Cemetery were leveled to preserve the grounds' appearance and accessibility.
  • Operational Enhancements: A new dry materials storage bay was constructed at the warehouse to improve material handling and storage efficiency. Meanwhile, work began on a compressor room at the water plant to strengthen system functionality and reliability.
  • Public Space Enhancements: Improvements were done at Smith Park to included the installation of electricity and a flag light, enhancing both accessibility and aesthetics. Additionally, fire stations were upgraded with new charging cords for fire trucks to ensure dependable emergency response capabilities.
  • Environmental and Beautification Efforts: The City of Henderson launched its annual turf management program to enhance the health and appearance of green spaces across the community. Public Services also organized a litter cleanup initiative in Crimcrest to help create a cleaner and more inviting environment for residents.

Readers Are Leaders

Henderson Mayor Henry Pace recently met with a group of enthusiastic second-grade students to discuss the role of a mayor in serving the community and making decisions that improve the lives of residents. He explained his responsibilities in fostering community growth and ensuring Henderson remains a great place to live. Mayor Pace also emphasized the importance of personal development, encouraging students to practice good manners and read daily, reinforcing his belief that “Readers are leaders.” By engaging with the students, he provided valuable insight into local government while promoting essential life skills that contribute to success in school and beyond.

Teamwork Makes The Dream Work!

Henderson Fire Department’s B Shift recently participated in a team-building training session focused on cribbing and stabilization techniques. These critical skills are primarily used during vehicle accidents to secure unstable vehicles, ensuring a safer environment for both first responders and those involved in the incident. Continuous training in these methods enhances the department’s ability to provide efficient and effective emergency response while prioritizing safety for all.
