
Mission Statement
The mission of the Henderson Police Department K-9 Unit is to provide a trained police canine to assist in the prevention and detection of crimes, locating persons sought by the police, the promotion of a favorable public image of the police department, and for such other duties as may be directed by the administration of the Henderson Police Department.
Patrol Unit
The Patrol K-9 Unit endeavors to provide year-round, 24 hour availability of a police canine in order to meet the needs of citizens and law enforcement personnel. Enhancing department community relations as well as officer safety and productivity are key objectives of the K-9 unit. Through training and education, the K-9 units seek continued self-improvement and and an increasing involvement in the community law enforcement effort
SRO Unit (School Resource)
The School Resource Officer K-9 Unit partners with Henderson ISD to provide a safe environment for students and staff by providing security and acting as a deterrent for contraband. This unit also places great importance on the enhancement of relations between students and law enforcement, and is a key part of the relationship the City of Henderson has with Henderson ISD.
