Public Information Officer

A Public Information Officer is an individual within the law enforcement agency who coordinates the release of information to the general population within a community that is pertinent to the police department and emergency management. This role works hand-in-hand with the city communications department and with media and press outlets. Objectives of this role include a partnership with local media outlets and the release of correct and proper information as authorized by the Chief of Police. 

Brian Bathke is the Henderson Police Department's Support Services Captain and Emergency Manager. Within this role, he also handles the Public Information Officer position and is a direct liaison with other local, state and federal agencies as well, on behalf of the police department.
