HENDERSON POLICE DEPARTMENT IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2024 CITIZENS POLICE ACADEMY, TO BEGIN APRIL 4, 2024.
DEADLINE TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS IS MARCH 28 AT 7PM.
Citizens Police Academy is a free course for the citizens of Henderson to become familiarized with the policies, procedures and divisions of the Henderson Police Department. This course is held in the evenings, once a week, in the Central Police Station located at 800 Lake Forest Parkway. Refreshments are provided by the CPA Alumni Association.
This course is 11-weeks in length, with the last week involving a graduation ceremony for students, teachers and families. Participants receive a diploma upon successful completion.
Additional benefits of completing this course include:
Membership with Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, a non-profit organization that fundraises and donates equipment, etc. back to the Henderson Police Department. The Henderson Chapter is a member of the Texas Citizens Police Academy Association.
Becoming a member allows you to request and participate in Ride-Along with patrol.
Eligibility to enter the Citizens On Patrol (COP) program.
